Following the First Minister's announcement yesterday about the phased re-opening of schools, please see below a statement from Tony McDaid (Executive Director of Education, South Lanarkshire Council). This statement has been posted on South Lanarkshire's' Social Media platforms.
"We acknowledge the First Minister’s announcement today targeting the phased return of children to schools from 22 February provided the virus continues to be suppressed.
We are developing plans in South Lanarkshire on that basis, and await further details of the testing arrangements outlined for staff and senior pupils. The council and schools will continue to update parents and carers."
As a school, we will work in partnership with South Lanarkshire Council to ensure that the phased re-opening is managed safely and will share the plans with you as soon as they become available. We are looking forward to welcoming more children back into the school building and hope that the time when they are all back - we miss them. Please remember, you are doing a fantastic job at supporting your children's learning, keeping them safe and loving them.
