OPAL is an Outdoor Play and Learning is a community interest company which aims to help schools improve the quality of play opportunities for all children. It is an 18-month programme which support school improvement through changing environment, resources, and culture to achieve better play and play times. OPAL has run programmes in schools across the world including Canada, France, Poland, New Zealand and Australia, and launched in Scotland in 2021.

We would love to bring OPAL to High Mill, however there is a significant cost (several thousand pounds) involved therefore we want to make sure it is ‘right’ for our school particularly given the size of our outdoor space.

We have managed to arrange a meeting with OPAL on Monday 15th May at 9:30am and would like to invite a few interested parents along to hear more about it and to help us decide if it is a project that can help us create a playground that inspire creativity. Miss Dorrian and Mrs Wilson will be attending, and some children will have the chance to join too.

If you would like to come along, please email the office. The link below provide some information about the programme.
