Schools Re-opening in August 2020

Attached is a letter from Tony McDaid (Executive Director, Education Resources) regarding the re-opening of schools in August 2020.   This includes information about the models used in primary and secondary schools.

Over the past two weeks and in addition to the normal process of arranging the classes for the new session, staff have been collaborating on groupings to set the attendance pattern for each child.  I'm sure you'll agree that this is no easy task as we look at composite classes, working groups as well as ensuring siblings attend on the same days.  Unfortunately we cannot for parental preferences.

As mentioned in my letter last week, we have also been busy preparing the physical environment of the school and each classroom as some changes are required.  There will also be practical changes to aspects of school life including where children line up, play times, changing shoes, access to resources to name a few.

We are working on a parental information booklet which should (hopefully) contain all the information you will need.  This will include a FAQs style section and we will be asking parents and children to submit questions through a Google Form.   Tomorrow evening I am meeting with the Parent Council to gain their views and input on our plans.

Thank you for your continued support.
